The accounting department in any business is an area that requires a high level of accuracy and consistency. We are calling this Flawless Execution. Payroll, for example. We count on it always being correct and on time. You may think this “just happens”. Like when an order shows up and it is correct and complete and on time, this “just happens”.
Nothing “just happens” except maybe sh--!
The folks in the accounting departments take deadlines seriously. They tend to be accurate and conscientious people and will do what it takes to get things done on time. They have to call and follow up. They have to check the figures and calculations done by others. They have to double check their own work. They get it done, no matter what, and don't point fingers or look for excuses. This does not just happen. Invoices have to be correct and payments and credits applied correctly. They have to communicate correctly and clearly and when required. They do what they say will do.
Are we flawless in accounting at Monk Office? Perhaps not quite, but we are close.
Why is that?
Maybe we need to hire more accountants?
It is really all about the people.
